This session will cover what can be good about threading an application and identify some of the performance problems that can be found.

Participants will learn:

• Why are data races important
• Why synchronization can slow the system down  
• How to identify threading anti-patterns

To conclude this session, the speaker will present some of the tools she uses to help uncover performance problems and threading bugs.

Claire has been with SAS Institute for over 28 years. During this time she has been involved in the development of many areas of the SAS System. For the past 15 years she has worked primarily on software performance, resource usage and testing tools.
